In a city rebuilt from rubber after the Great Fire, generations of lightbulbs have forgotten how to shine.
Blaming electricity for the destruction, the Rubber King transformed the city into a place designed to resist power, creativity and movement while convincing its citizens that electricity was dangerous.
Now the city exists in darkness, frozen in time and disconnected from what once made it come alive.
Lenny the Lightbulb is an animated storytelling project exploring themes of identity, purpose, creativity and collective transformation through the metaphor of electricity and light.
Developed collaboratively with young people and emerging creatives through workshops, character design sessions and community production activities, the project invites participants to help build the world, characters and stories that bring light back to the city.
"Because we are all just lightbulbs in rubber cities really."
